About Cadleo

HOW CADLEO  STARTED ?

CADLEO started when Leo Malkin was a Lab Aid at Bergen Community College. Leo’s job as a Lab Aid was to assist and mentor students with Autodesk and Adobe software while maintaining a safe working environment for students. Leo then started tutoring on Wyzant (www.wyzant.com) and consistently consulting Cathy F Benson, AIA (cathyfbensonaia.com). In conjunction with Cathy, he provided two renderings for Paterson Habitat for Humanity(www.patersonhabitat.org) which is helping them bring in millions in construction funding for housing projects in Paterson, New Jersey. On Wyzant (www.wyzant.com/Tutors/CADLEO), Leo tutors students across the country and helped on projects as far away as California.

How Leo works

I always bring 5 solutions to every problem, adaptability, ingenuity and the ability to learn. My training classes are always flexible; I’d rather work with someone 3 hours a day for months on end and have the client understand the material than 8 hours for 3 days and they leave confused.

I start a project by listening to the client, researching the issues, and seeking the whole story not just from the client but also their compatriots. I collaborate with whomever needs to help me tell the story and only start a project when I have all the answers or as much information as I can gather.

I believe when someone is looking for business like mine they have a need to give their clients more in the way of communication and an ability to speed up their workflow where projects cost less to produce and communication between stakeholders is universal. I also believe that there were willing to learn more to help their business model to grow and expand into the future.

In every field I’ve been involved in I’ve had to train someone else to do something, solve someone else’s problem and provide a solution that fits in need. The building information modeling industry subset of the architectural, engineering, and construction felt like a good fit because of my immense computer background and design knowledge. I love to see a plan come together and see all the parts fit and flow congruently.

I like to work with clients who are fully committed to learning and expanding their way of working. I believe no architecture, construction, engineering, interior design, theatrical is too big. I will only turn down those who cut corners or are trying to cheat or do anything disreputable i.e. have another do their work for them and pass it off as their own or hire someone to do their homework for them.
